Fire burning in West Oakland

The blaze in a commercial building this afternoon in Oakland has been knocked down and firefighters are checking to see if it is spreading, a dispatcher from the Oakland Fire Department confirmed.

The fire broke out on the third floor of a three-story commercial building in the 2200 block of Adeline Street in Oakland around 3:45 p.m., the dispatcher said. Three fire engines and two fire trucks are at the building fighting the blaze.
