First Friday event in Oakland cancelled due to rain
OAKLAND (BCN)-- Oakland's monthly First Fridays event has been canceled this evening due to rain, according to event organizers.
Rain is expected throughout the Bay Area this evening and into tonight, which prompted organizers to call off the outdoor event.
The next First Fridays will take place on May 5, organizers said.
While today's event has been cancelled, organizers are still encouraging people to visit the numerous bars, restaurants and music and art venues throughout the downtown area.
