Fogging operation planned along Martinez waterfront Thursday evening

- Crews will be spraying insecticide along a portion of the Martinez waterfront this evening to control the number of adult mosquitoes in the area.

The fogging operation by the Contra Costa Mosquito & Vector Control District will take place from 7-11 p.m. in an area bordered on the north by the Carquinez Strait, the south by Marina Vista Avenue, the east by Pacheco Creek and the west by Ferry Street.

The insecticide Zenivex E4 RTU will be distributed by truck-mounted, low-volume sprayers at a rate of 1.5 ounces per acre, district officials said.

A map of the area being fogged and more information about the operation can be found at http://www.contracostamosquito.com/adulticide_current_activity.htm
