A DC man got the surprise of his life on Saturday when actor and musician Kevin Bacon came by a local cafe to surprise him and other street musicians.

Bacon's charity, SixDegrees.org (inspired by the popular "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game) partnered with DC housing organization Pathways to Housing DC to surprise DC bucket drummer Wendell.

Pathways to Housing supports people around the District with a unique model meant to end homelessness by focusing on “housing first,” regardless of the persons' personal issues.

Wendell, a talented street performer and drummer, was homeless for several years before receiving help from Pathways to Housing.

Now, Wendell uses his talents as a musician to inspire others, and he certainly inspired Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael Bacon with his ingenuity and musical skill.

The Bacon Brothers joined Wendell and other street performers by playing with them, all while entertaining customers at store and cafe, Shop Made In DC.

The Bacon Brothers Band is on tour promoting their latest album “Tom Petty T-Shirt."

Shop Made In DC donated 10 percent of all food and merchandise purchases made inside the store Saturday during the event to support 3,000 adults each year who are experiencing homelessness or at risk for homelessness.
