FOX Beat: 'Trumbo,' 'The 33,' 'By The Sea,' and 'Spotlight' movie reviews

FOX 5’s Kevin McCarthy has your reviews for the new films 'Trumbo,' 'The 33,' 'By The Sea,' and 'Spotlight!'

KEVIN’S REVIEWS

TRUMBO - Bryan Cranston continues to prove he’s one of the best and diverse actors working today. He plays the lead in a film about a self-proclaimed communist who was jailed and blacklisted from Hollywood for his political beliefs. He gives this film a 4 out of 5.

THE 33 - One quality of a good film is even when you know the ending, you are on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next. This story of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days does just that. Kevin gives this movie a 4 out of 5 for solid storytelling, filmmaking, and acting.

BY THE SEA - Beautifully shot but does nothing for you emotionally. While the film is intriguing, the payoff wasn’t worth it and you find yourself never connected to the characters. Kevin rates this film a 2.5 out of 5.
