NEW YORK (KTVU) - Saturday Night Live paid tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting and Tom Petty last night.
Country singer Jason Aldean took the stage in New York to give a powerful opening to the show by singing one of Petty's hits "I Won't Back Down".
Aldean was on stage when the mass shooting began in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Last night he offered words of sympathy and unity nearly a week after 59 people were killed in the tragedy.
"Like everyone I'm struggling to understand what happened that night and pick up the pieces," Aldean said, "So many people are hurting. They're our children, parents, brothers, sisters, friends. They're all part of our family".
