Jazz musician searching for saxophone lost performing in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - A New Orleans jazz musician is searching for his saxophone after leaving it in a San Francisco taxicab.

Donald Harrison was performing at the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco Saturday night when he left his instrument in a taxi.

Harrison says the horn was made especially for him by International Woodwind Company.  He says it is the horn he can express himself the best on.

The saxophone also holds special value because it was one of the only things he saved when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

Harrison says, "The only thing I took with me was my computer and my saxophone".

Harrison is returning to the Bay Area for his next gig at Yoshi's Jazz Club in Oakland on August 30th. He will be promoting his new recording, "The Eclectic Jazz Revolution of Unity", which promotes understanding, peace, and love. 

He says his dream is to get his horn back before that date. 

The saxophone, that Harrison named Lady M., is a gold alto horn. The model number is IW 601 ADL and it is engraved on the horn.

It was left in a case in the shape of a sax and has two stickers on it. One is a New Orleans Saints season ticket holder sticker and the other is a Playboy Jazz Fest Sticker.
