BENICIA, Calif. (KTVU) - SANTA ROSA (BCN) - A Benicia man who was struck by a vehicle in Santa Rosa earlier this month died Sunday in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to Santa Rosa police.
Joseph Muth, 55, was struck by a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am while he was crossing northbound Santa Rosa Avenue near Powderhorn Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 9.
Muth was not in a crosswalk and the driver, a 65-year-old Santa Rosa man, said he initially did not see Muth and could not avoid hitting him, Sgt. Summer Black said. The roads were wet from rain that day.
Muth suffered a fractured skull and other significant injuries, Black said.
