Hazmat crews inspecting 30-gallon drum in Daly City

Hazmat crews are at the sene of an incident involving a 30-gallon drum on Southgate and Westridge avenues in Daly City Wednesday afternoon. 

There is no word on what is inside the drum at the location, but it is being tested. Crews say the situation is currently stable, but they were not taking any chances.

At 4:34 p.m. North County Fire Authority tweeted an update and said the "product was stable" and that the drum was being removed from the area. They expect the area to be reopened to traffic within the hour.  

The fire department originally tweeted about the incident at 3:20 p.m. after alerting the public to avoid the area.
