Richmond high school student arrested, accused of bringing gun to school

A Richmond high school student was arrested on Tuesday, accused of bringing a gun to school.

It happened on the De Anza High School campus, which went into lockdown mode after a student reported seeing another student with a gun, according to officials with the West Contra Costa Unified School District.

The lockdown was in effect from about 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Richmond police arrived on scene and arrested the student without further incident.

The student did not threaten anyone, and no one was injured, according to officials.
