San Bruno man charged with murder in dismemberment case
SAN BRUNO (BCN) -- Investigators declined Friday to release the name of a missing person who is part of an investigation into a dismembered body found Thursday in a homicide suspects' San Bruno home.
But San Bruno police said Davis Stubblefield, 50, of San Bruno, is facing charges in connection with the missing person case, including murder, robbery and burglary. Police said the missing person, who was reported missing on March 29, is believed to have been an acquaintance of Stubblefield.
The missing person is associated with a separate home in the 3000 block of Pacific Heights Boulevard, but officers are still determining whether the person lives at the home.
Police took Stubblefield into custody after officers went to his home just before 11 a.m. Thursday at 3781 Pacific Heights Blvd. as part of the missing persons case.
Both homes are crime scenes. Detectives, crime lab technicians, and coroner's personnel are processing evidence at both, Chief Ed Barberini said at a news conference.

"This an arduous task," Barberini said.
But investigators hope to finish collecting evidence this evening.
Part of the dismembered body was allegedly found in Stubblefield's backyard and part was allegedly found inside Stubblefield's home, Barberini said.
Police are not sure whether Stubblefield was living alone.
Stubblefield was cooperative with officers when he was taken into custody and he was taken to the police station to be interviewed.
At the station he was arrested and late Thursday night was taken to the county jail on suspicion of homicide, robbery, burglary, the illegal use and possession of tear gas and possessing a gun as a felon.
Stubblefield allegedly has a criminal history, according to Barberini.
The chief said the county coroner will release the name of the person found dead once the person has been identified and the person's family has been notified.
Barberini said he could not confirm whether a whole body was found. Although a person has been found, the missing person case remains open, Barberini said.
