SB I-880 in Oakland reopens after large pothole repaired

All lanes of Interstate 880 in Oakland were reopened Friday night after emergency repairs on a massive pothole were finished.

The pothole was discovered around 11:30 a.m.in the southbound lanes between Jackson and Oak streets.

Traffic was jammed for several hours as the 4 by 3-foot pothole shut down the freeway's three left lanes.

There were reports that several cars hit the hole and got flat tires.
