RICHMOND, Calif. (BCN) - A major delay has been reported on BART this afternoon because of an equipment problem on the track near the Richmond station, BART officials told KTVU.
The delay was affecting trains on the Richmond line going to Fremont and Millbrae.
As of 3:56 p.m. on Friday, the delay on the Richmond line was only 10 minutes in the Richmond, Fremont and Millbrae directions.
BART said they needed to send a lineman out to the site to manually handle the track issue.
The track problem is a switcher that isn't responding to a remote signal. The lineman will ensure the trains will stay on the proper track while they work to fix the issue.
There was no estimated time of a repair.
