Man accused of trying to meet 14-year-old girl for sexual contact

- A 63-year-old man arrested in April in San Francisco on suspicion of attempting to meet and have sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl has been indicted by a federal grand jury, police said today.

San Francisco officers first began investigating Antioch resident Roger Boshers in early April after they learned he was allegedly trying to arrange a meeting with the girl through social media.

Also, Boshers allegedly was found to have distributed and was in possession of child pornography when a Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children task force executed a search warrant at his home in October 2017, according to police.

On April 11, San Francisco officers and investigators from Contra Costa County took Boshers into custody as he was allegedly attempting to meet the 14-year-old in San Francisco.

Police said that Boshers has been charged by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office with two counts of sending harmful material to a minor, arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual contact and going to an arranged meeting with a minor for sexual contact.

On May 31, a federal grand jury indicted Boshers for distribution and possession of child pornography and for sexual coercion and enticement of a minor, according to police.
