Evacuation orders lifted for fire in Marin Co.

Evacuation orders for a fire burning in Marin County were lifted late Tuesday afternoon. 

The "Irving Fire" burning near Samuel P. Taylor State Park began Monday night when mandatory evacuations were ordered.

Alamo Way, Portola and Mountain King Roads were re-opened Tuesday afternoon. Some homes were still without electrical power according to the Marin County Fire Department. 

By Tuesday afternoon, the vegetation fire had grown from 40 acres to 115 acres and was 35 percent contained, firefighters said. Firefighters said the fire is burning in an area behind homes on Arroyo Avenue and 150 structures are threatened.

The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. with the evacuation notification coming at around 9:30 p.m.

An evacuation center was set up at the Lagunitas School at 1 Lagunitas School Road.

The areas are said by officials to be difficult to access.
