Martial arts event aims to raise money for youth

The Bay Area Challenge, a martial arts event, will have its Muay Thai series taking place in Pleasanton October 29.

Guests will be able to see Muay Thai fighters face off, but the event also benefits the Martial Arts Matters non-profit organization.

Geoff Quares joined Mornings on 2 to discuss the event and non-profit.

Martial Arts Matters benefits at-risk and disadvantaged youth by giving Martial Arts and Fitness Training scholarships.

They have raised $10,000 so far, and hope to raise $50,000 for the first set of scholarships.

Tickets to the event are $40 and $5 from each ticket will go to Martial Arts Matter.

Doors open at 12 p.m. and the first event is at 1 p.m.
