Missing service dog reunited to family, young girl with cerebral palsy (video)

Angel, a service dog that went missing during a Fourth of July celebration, has been reunited with her family in South Carolina.

The 9-year-old sheltie husky mix was found in the middle of the street by Danielle Joiner. Angel was frightened, scared by the nearby fireworks, and so she jumped in Joiner’s car when she pulled over to help.

With help from social media, the good Samaritan was able to return the dog to Tracelle Higgins. Angel is the service dog for Higgins’s daughter, Jocelyn, who has cerebral palsy, solid aspiration, and suffers from seizures. The dog’s been with the family since Hurricane Katrina.

“Angel looks after her, and when something’s wrong with Jocelyn, she’ll let us know,” Higgins said. “Angel could never be replaced.”

Thanks to the work Joiner, the Higgins family is complete again.
