San Francisco police are investigating after mail was stolen from residents at a residential building.
According to a Nextdoor alert, the building is located in Cow Hollow.
The alert states a USPS postal key for zip code 94109 has been used to enter buildings and steal mail and packages.
According to a resident who posted on Nextdoor, "I personally had a new credit card mailed to me which was stolen in the robbery on 8/18 and was activated by the thieves and used to buy $5,000.00 worth of goods from local SF jewelry stores, Walgreens and restaurants two days later on 8/20. AMEX called me on the evening of 8/20 notifying me of suspected fraudulent charges."
Police confirm the suspect or suspects may have gained access with the use of a mail key.
At this point additional details have not been released.
