Powder charges used in BART station construction

People living in the Pittsburg area are being told they should not be too alarmed, if they hear what sounds like gunfire over the next 3 weeks.

There is construction for the eBART station at the Railroad Avenue overcrossing.

The project includes powder charges to drive spikes into the steel frame.

Crews are working on the eBART station there between six in the morning and two in the afternoon.

And they're using powder charges to drive spikes into the steel frame, between the times of 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.
