OLYMPIA, Wash. (KTVU) - A mother and daughter in Washington received an unwanted surprise when a voyeur recorded them in a Forever 21 dressing room.
The mother says she and her 12-year-old daughter were shopping at Capitol Mall in Olympia, Washington.
She says, "The employee said, 'No, I need you to come out.' So we came out and she pointed down and you could see on the floor, the gentleman next to me had a shoe with this phone propped up in it recording, faced at our mirror, recording into our dressing room".
Olympia police say the man was 31-year-old Efrain Ramirez-Ventura. They found more than 80 videos recorded on his phone from the past two months.
Probable cause documents show hom telling officers he "sometimes leaves the record on the phone and puts it on the ground just in cases any hot ladies are there. I'm a guy, man, so this kind of stuff happens".
The mother says her daughter was able to recognize the trauma she was feeling and says her legs were shaking and her heart was racing when she realized she was a victim.
This mother says she realized that sexual harassment can happen to anyone at any age.
