Motel fire injures 2 in San Jose

Two people were injured in a two-alarm fire that broke out at a motel in San Jose this morning, according to fire officials.

At 12:27 a.m., the San Jose Fire Department received a call about a fire at the Casa Linda Motel located at 1669 Monterey Road.

Firefighters responded to the single-story motel and had the blaze under control at 12:51 a.m.

Two people were injured and transported to a local trauma center. Neither of them were firefighters, fire officials said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Arson investigators and PG&E officials responded to assist in the investigation, according to fire officials.
