'Mustache Kitten' goes from stray to potential star

Meet ‘Mustache kitten’: Could she be the next internet cat sensation?  One California shelter is hoping so and hoping that will help them spread an important message.

The uniquely colored kitten, whose name is actually “Sally Ann,” was turned over to the Fresno shelter, “Cat House on the Kings” after she was found abandoned in a donation bin at the local Salvation Army.

Shelter workers say she is doing well and is receiving medical care and food, but that thousands of other unwanted cats and dogs are not so lucky.

That’s because shelters become over-run during this time of year by litters of puppies and kittens from cats and dogs that are not spayed and neutered.

Officials with “Cat House on the Kings” are urging people to responsibly take care of their pets, because the shelters can only take care of so many animals.

‘Mustache Kitten’ by the way, should be ready for adoption within a few days.
