New on and off-ramps on Bay Bridge now open

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - Starting Saturday, drivers will have a different way of getting on and off the Bay Bridge at Yerba Buena Island.

The new westbound freeway ramps started being used by drivers early Saturday morning.

The new ramps are on the right side and they are longer, which makes it easier for drivers merging into traffic.

The old off and on-ramps, which are on the left side of the freeway, will be shut down before the Monday morning commute.
