BART Removes Obstruction Near Pittsburg, Trains Delayed

BART trains were getting back to their normal schedule Wednesday morning after an obstruction on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line caused significant delays.

Loose cover boards forced BART trains to single-track between Lafayette and Concord this morning. The boards cover the third rail.

The problem was resolved at 8:25 a.m., BART spokesman Linton Johnson said.

There were still residual delays of 10 to 15 minutes as of 8:45 a.m.
