The commercial, shot by Los Angeles-based Duroo Productions Inc., is for 4-D technology being advertised by a Korean-based movie theater chain, according to Laurel Barsotti of the San Francisco Film Office.

The film office, the part of the city's Film Commission that issues permits for people filming around San Francisco, is warning people in the area so they are not alarmed or call 911 if they see the car chase or hear the simulated gunfire.

Barsotti said the commercial is meant to recreate a car chase from the 1968 film "Bullitt," which was set in San Francisco and featured Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bissett.

Filming will take place on Montgomery, Bush, Sansome, Sutter, Pine, Washington, and Clay streets between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Blanks will be fired during the chase under the supervision of a special effects coordinator. San Francisco police will be on site to ensure public safety, and all emergency services have been notified in advance.

Residents and customers will also have access into and out of the area throughout the day, but may have to wait for a few minutes while the commercial's crew is filming.
