Police are attempting to locate a man who allegedly stabbed his pregnant girlfriend and her family dog in Antioch Wednesday morning, according to police.
Police said a 16-year-old girl called police around 10:35 a.m. to report that her boyfriend, identified as 18-year-old Johnny Madden, had stabbed her.
Officers responded to the 2200 block of Hamlin Drive where they found the victim, who was suffering from cuts to her left leg and abdomen, police said. He also went after the family's dog, a six-month old shepherd puppy.
She was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were determined not to be life threatening. Her unborn baby and the puppy also survived the attack.
Police said Madden fled the scene before officers arrived and was not located during a subsequent search of the area.
Anyone with information about Madden's whereabouts is encouraged to call Antioch police at (925) 779-6874.
