ANTIOCH, Calif. —

Authorities arrested a 25-year-old man while serving a search warrant at a home in Antioch this morning.

Antioch police said they served the warrant at a home on Lemontree Court at about 8 a.m. with the aid of the Contra Costa County SWAT team.

The warrant was obtained in connection with recent violent crimes in the area of nearby Sycamore Drive, police said.

Over the past year, police have reported more than half a dozen violent crimes on or near Sycamore Drive, including two murders, an officer-involved killing and other shootings.

On Nov. 14, a man was shot and killed at the Delta Pines apartment complex at 2301 Sycamore Drive after the alleged killers brawled with friends of the victim over stolen laundry, according to police.

Three men are in custody and have been charged with that victim's murder.
