REDWOOD CITY, Calif. —

A San Mateo County attorney has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and delivering contraband for allegedly smuggling drugs to an inmate at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, according to the sheriff's office.

Correctional deputies arrested 43-year-old attorney Erika Jordening, of Pacifica, at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday as she was meeting with her client, Aaron Rauls.

Jordening is suspected of giving drugs in the form of pills to Rauls, also a 43-year-old Pacifica resident, during the visit, according to the sheriff's office.

She was booked into the Women's Correctional Center in Redwood City and is being held on $70,000 bail, sheriff's officials said.

The arrest was made by the sheriff's office in collaboration with the county Narcotics Task Force.
