BART police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside the agency's Bay Fair station in San Leandro last month.
Police Friday released a photo of Jabrie Bennett, 18, who is believed to be the main suspect in the Jan. 19 killing of 50-year-old Kenneth Lee Seets. Two other suspects have already been arrested in the case, police said.
Seets, an innocent bystander, was in the bus loading zone of the Bay Fair BART station when he was shot. A second person was also struck by the gunfire but survived, police said.
Bennett is described as a black man who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes, black hair and a slim build, according to police.
He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Bennett's whereabouts is asked to call 911, their local police department or BART police at (510) 464-7000.
Watchdogs are questioning an exclusive agreement between the City of Oakland and a non-profit group, tapped to lead a multi-million dollar project to redevelop the area around the Coliseum BART station.
