VALLEJO, Calif. —

A masked robber crawled through the drive-thru window of the McDonald’s restaurant at 170 Lincold Road East in Vallejo early Tuesday morning, shocking two employees working the overnight shift.

“He confronted both the manager and the employee with a gun and then forced both to the rear of the business,” said Vallejo Police Lt. Kenny Park. “They were then ordered to strip down and go inside a freezer.”

Around 2 a.m., when the incident occurred, the doors of the restaurant were closed and locked at the time. Customers were only being served in the drive thru.

“Fearing for their own lives, the employees decided to stay put until they felt it was safe to come out,” said Lt. Park.

The employees were in the freezer for less than an hour. In the meantime, the masked robber had made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers.

Police do have extensive surveillance video which may be released once investigators have a chance to review it for evidence.

Investigators in Vallejo have been kept busy with a rash of violent crime in the past week including multiple homicides.

“We cannot solve all these crimes alone. We’re going to ask for the public’s help,” said Lt. Park.

The suspect in the McDonald’s robbery is described by police as 5’10”, 165 pounds, early 20’s, and African American or Hispanic.
