HAYWARD, Calif. —

A car fleeing from police at a high speed went the wrong way on Interstate 880 in Hayward and crashed into another car late Saturday night, injuring two.

Deputies spotted the vehicle driving erratically around 11 p.m.

They tried to flag it down, but the driver took off.

He ended up going northbound on the south bound lanes on I-880.

Deputies pulled back for safety, but the driver still crashed head-on into another car.

Two women in the other car were taken to the hospital but their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The man driving the wrong way ran from the scene, and had not been caught by Sunday morning.
