EL CERRITO, Calif. —

Police in El Cerrito were asking local residents Sunday to keep an eye out for potential mail thieves after a string of recent mail thefts.

A suspect earlier that week stole packages and outgoing mail from several different locations in El Cerrito, police said.

Most of the thefts occurred in broad daylight, according to police.

Police said multiple residents over the past week captured video footage of a suspected mail thief. A still photo of the man was released.

Anyone who sees this man, knows his identity or who spots a mail theft in progress was asked to call El Cerrito police at (510) 237-3233.
