Emeryville police respond to gunshots, find man shot in the back

EMERYVILLE, Calif. —

A man found shot in his back in Emeryville Friday night was in stable condition, police said Saturday morning.

Emeryville police responded to the 1000 block of 48th Street at 10:12 p.m. on reports that shots had been fired in the area.

Responding officers said they found a man lying down with a gunshot wound to the back when they arrived at the scene.

The victim was then transported to a local hospital for treatment and reported to be in stable condition early Saturday morning.

Police had not made any arrests as of Saturday morning and asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Emeryville police at (510) 596-3700.
