An allegedly dangerous felon who was wanted for federal drug and gun crimes was arrested by Fairfield police in Vallejo on Wednesday, Fairfield police said.
The Fairfield police Narcotic Investigations Unit and the Special Operations Team tracked down Broderick Ararao, 31, of Vallejo, at a home in the 100 block of Rainbow Court in that city.
Ararao had recently led Fairfield police on a car chase after being recognized by the Narcotics Investigations Unit in Fairfield, according to police.
During the pursuit, he allegedly attempted to discard two ounces of methamphetamine while evading officers, police said. The methamphetamine was recovered after the pursuit but Ararao remained at large.
Ararao was arrested at the Rainbow Court residence without incident, police said. A stolen shotgun and an illegal firearm were recovered during a search of the home, according to police.
Fairfield police said Ararao was located with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's State Parole Fugitive Apprehension Team.
