SAN FRANCISCO —

An early-morning fire at a park near San Francisco's Ocean Beach burned brush and grass near a homeless encampment but did not cause any property damage or injuries Saturday, a fire lieutenant said.

Fire personnel were called around 5:45 a.m. to an outside fire at Sutro Heights Park in the 600 block of 48th Ave, San Francisco Fire Lt. Lopez said.

Fire crews arriving on the scene saw trees and grass on fire.

A homeless encampment near the scene of the fire was pushed up against a fence, and no injuries or property damage were reported, he said.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 6:22 a.m.

Fire investigators were still investigating the cause of the fire Saturday afternoon.
