FREMONT, Calif. —

Police in Fremont and San Leandro are asking for the public's help in tracking down a suspect in recent robberies in those cities.

Melvin Landry Jr., 21, is known to frequent Oakland and Sacramento, and is considered armed and dangerous, Fremont police said.

Officers have arrested one suspect in the Fremont robbery, 21-year-old Fremont resident Dominique Martin, but Landry has continued to elude authorities, police said.

Martin was arrested Jan. 4 after Oakland police located a black 2002 BMW that was used in the Fremont robbery and alerted Fremont police. A weapon used in the robbery was not found with the car, police said.

Martin was arraigned Jan. 8 on robbery and parole violation charges, and is expected to enter a plea at his next court hearing on Jan. 28 at the Hayward Hall of Justice, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

San Leandro police are also searching for Landry in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Walmart store at 1919 Davis St. in San Leandro around noon on Dec. 3.

Anyone with information about Landry's whereabouts is asked to call Fremont police Detective Joshua Ehling at (510) 790-6934 or San Leandro police Detective Sgt. Ted Henderson at (510) 577-3237 or send an anonymous tip at www.fremontpolice.org/tip.
