Gilroy family escapes gang gunman’s deadly volley

GILROY, Calif. —

A gang-motivated drive-by shooting early Wednesday left a family shaken and their home riddled with a bullet holes, authorities said.

Gilroy police were dispatched to the area of W. 10th Street and Glenview Drive at 12:14 a.m. regarding shots fired in the vicinity.

Officers determined that unknown suspects unleashed a volley of shots at a residence in the 6900 block of Glenview Drive.

Police said a total of eight people, between the ages of 4 months and 46 years of age, were inside the home when shots were fired.

Based on the statements given by witnesses, police believe the shooting to be gang-motivated.

Police are searching for an early 1990s red Honda Civic hatchback that was seen leaving the area southbound on Glenview Drive and may be associated with the shooting.
