PETALUMA, Calif. —

One man was hurt after a high speed chase on Highway 101 ended with him driving off the road and crashing into a Petaluma creek Saturday evening.

The crash was reported just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, near the Petaluma Blvd. north exit, when the car ended up upside-down in a creek.

Firefighters pulled 32-year-old Jose Francisco Macias to safety.

Police say officers were pursuing Macias because they say he's a suspect in a domestic battery investigation.
