Hit-and-run driver who killed bicyclist in Richmond still at large

RICHMOND, Calif. —

Investigators are still trying to locate a driver who struck and killed a 28-year-old bicyclist in a hit-and-run collision in Richmond early Wednesday morning, a police lieutenant said Thursday.

Richmond resident Juan Garcia was struck around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday as he rode his bike south on 33rd Street near Barrett Avenue, Lt. Bisa French said.

Emergency responders pronounced Garcia dead at the scene, she said.

Police so far have no suspect information, nor any description of the hit-and-run driver's car. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Richmond police at (510) 233-1214.
