Man arrested for shooting death of woman

OAKLAND, Calif. —

A man was arrested for shooting and killing a woman in East Oakland tonight, police said.   

The shooting was reported at 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of 103rd and Longfellow avenues, police Officer J. Moore said.   

Police said the incident was likely a domestic violence situation and children were at home at the time of the shooting. 

Police took a man in to custody at a nearby residence shortly after the shooting.
