Man found dead inside home near Morgan Hill

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. —

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office was investigating the death of a man discovered unconscious in his home near Morgan Hill early Sunday morning.

Just after 3 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired in the area of Oak Valley Rd and Sheila Ave, according to the sheriff's office.

Responding deputies were alerted by a resident on Oak Valley Rd that a man in his 30s was unconscious and not breathing inside his home.

Deputies' efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, and arriving paramedics declared him dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators had not confirmed if the victim was related to the gunshots reported in the area.
