SANTA ROSA, Calif. —
A man was found lying on a roadway with life-threatening wounds to his head Friday night in Santa Rosa, according to police.
Santa Rosa police received a report of a man lying in the 1400 block of Peterson Rd at about 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, police and medical personnel found a man in his 60s lying partially in the roadway unconscious, police said.
The man was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Police closed down a portion of Peterson Rd for the investigation until about 2:45 a.m.
While police have not determined a cause for the man's injuries, a white car occupied by two males were reportedly seen in the area at the time of the incident.
Police said Friday night that they believed the man had left his home to walk to the store when he suffered the injuries.
The man's name was not released due to the nature of the investigation, according to police.
Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to contact Santa Rosa police at (707) 543-3600.
