Police are attempting to locate a suspect who robbed a Salinas convenience store at gunpoint on Friday evening.
Police said the robbery occurred around 6:55 p.m., when a man entered the Quik Stop at 11 Clark St., brandished a gun and demanded money from the store clerk.
The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the man left the store. He fled the scene in a white, four-door car that was last seen heading west on West Market Street toward Castroville, according to police.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s who is roughly 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black ski mask, black hoodie and dark jeans at the time of the robbery.
