Man tries to lure 11-year-old girl into car in front of school

MILLBRAE, Calif. —

A man tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car in Millbrae this week, police said Friday.

The suspect, described as a Middle Eastern man between 30 and 40 years old, stopped in front of Taylor Middle School at 850 Taylor Blvd. shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday and asked the victim where he could find the library, Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

The suspect then allegedly asked the girl to get into his vehicle. The girl ran away, and the suspect fled east on Taylor Boulevard, Rosenblatt said.

The suspect vehicle was described as either a dark green, four-door sedan or a gray or earth-tone colored vehicle, Rosenblatt said. The victim's mother saw the vehicle but was unable to see the license plate number.
