A Mendocino County man wanted by federal authorities on drug charges for four years has been arrested in Berkeley.
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports U.S. Marshals arrested John David Beck after he left a home Friday where authorities had determined he had been hiding.
U.S. Marshal Don O'Keefe says Beck has been wanted since 2009 when a Mendocino County marijuana eradication team seized more than 600 marijuana plants and 10 pounds of processed marijuana from Beck's properties.
O'Keefe says Beck -- from Fort Bragg -- had previously been convicted in 2005 of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana.
Beck is being held in Alameda County Glenn Dyer Facility in Oakland pending an appearance in federal court.
Watchdogs are questioning an exclusive agreement between the City of Oakland and a non-profit group, tapped to lead a multi-million dollar project to redevelop the area around the Coliseum BART station.
