HAYWARD, Calif. —

Three juvenile car burglary suspects caused a brief BART disruption at the South Hayward station Wednesday afternoon, a BART police lieutenant said.

The car break-ins were reported at 2:29 p.m. at the South Hayward BART station parking lot.

A witness told police that three juveniles had broken into several cars, BART police Lt. Aaron Ledford said.

BART trains were passing through the station without stopping after the suspects were seen on the platform trying to get on a train, Ledford said.

The youths were detained and regular train service resumed.
