A Novato man was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of raping a former employee as she cleaned a commercial building in Sausalito.
The assault was reported at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday. The victim told police she was alone and cleaning a building in the 800 block of Bridgeway when her former supervisor, Ruben A. Flores, 43, knocked her unconscious from behind, Lt. Kurtis Skoog said.
"The victim reported that when she awoke, Flores had just raped her," Skoog said.
The woman told police Flores had made numerous unwanted telephone calls to her and had followed her to various places of work in the past, Skoog said.
He was arrested by Sausalito police at 1:09 a.m. in the 1700 block of Grant Avenue in Novato, according to the Marin County Jail booking log.
Flores was booked into jail on felony charges of rape, burglary, battery causing serious injury, false imprisonment and stalking. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Watchdogs are questioning an exclusive agreement between the City of Oakland and a non-profit group, tapped to lead a multi-million dollar project to redevelop the area around the Coliseum BART station.
