Antioch police were involved in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The shooting was on Hillcrest Avenue near Wildflower Drive. Police said that a suspect that had been involved in a chase with authorites crashed his vehicle at that intersection. He brandished a handgun and fled from officers.
A firefight ensued and the suspect was fatally wounded by gunfire.
Police said that no officers were hurt in the shooting.
Antioch police and the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office are investigating the shooting.
