ANTIOCH, Calif. —

A bar fight between two groups of patrons turned deadly in Antioch early Saturday morning after one of the fighters shot an innocent customer inside the bar, Antioch police said.

Police received a call at 1:36 a.m. that a shooting had occurred at Cruisers Saloon at 1611 A St.

Apparently a fight between two groups of patrons resulted in one of the groups being kicked out of the bar, police said.

About 45 minutes later, the individuals who were ejected returned to the bar, this time with at least one concealed weapon.

The two groups began fighting again inside the bar and then moved just outside the front door.

One of the men who had been kicked out earlier then pulled out a handgun and fired at least one shot, police said.

A 38-year-old man at the bar was hit and died at the scene, police said.

Video taken of the scene showed another person being loaded into an ambulance on a gurney.

Officers were still searching for the gunman Saturday morning, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call Antioch police Detective Mike Mellone at (925) 779-6930.
