Overturned car closes 2 lanes on SB I-880 near Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. —

An overturned car was blocking two lanes on southbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland Saturday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The incident near High Street was reported at 7:38 a.m. A Sig-alert was issued at 7:47 a.m. after two lanes were blocked, according to CHP Officer James Evans.

Two cars were involved in the crash in which it appeared that one car went over the center divide and onto the southbound lanes, according to the CHP.

Only minor injuries were reported, Evans said.

The roadway was expected to open shortly after 8:40 a.m., Evans said.
